Meet The Coaches

Jim Crozier played collegiately at Saint Michael's College in Vermont from 1992 - 2002. While at Saint Michael's College Crozier excelled in net posting several standing records and landing a spot on the Northeast 10 All-Conference team. Prior to entering college Crozier had the opportunity to step on the field for Avon Old Farms School in Avon, CT. Currently Crozier is assisting at Western Connecticut State University specifically focusing his expertise on the goalies at the Division III institution. Crozier also coached with the Avon Youth Lacrosse for several years as well as his alma maters Saint Michael's College and Avon Old Farms School.



Matthew Ramsay's career took him from the Varsity fields of Southington High School and the Nutmeg Elite Lacrosse programs to Division III top 25 school, Eastern Connecticut State University. Ramsay played a s a midfielder for the Warriors from 2005-2008 helping the team to a Little East Conference Championship in 2006 and a birth into the Division III National Championship Tournament. After graduating from Eastern Connecticut Ramsay assisted with the Rip-It Lacrosse program and currently runs Connecticut Calley Lacrosse Club, a competitive post-collegiate team competing in the American Lacrosse League.





Patrick Bushnell comes to Connecticut Valley Elite from Eastern Connecticut State University where he served as an assistant for one year. Prior to coaching Bushnell completed a four year varsity campaign at Eastern Connecticut as a face-off specialist and defensive midfielder from 2004-2007. Bushnell also played three years of Varsity lacrosse at Southington High School and assisted with Southington Youth Lacrosse and the Southington High School teams when time permitted.







Colin Shields has been exposed to the game of lacrosse for many years. Shields played his college ball at Nichols College, a Division III institution, from 2003-2007 where he garnered four Varsity letters. Prior to Nichols College, Shields participated in Varsity Ice Hockey and Lacrosse at Newington High School. Currently, Shields manages a lacrosse retail store and assists with the Newington Youth Lacrosse Association.







John Kennedy has been the face of the Newington Youth Lacrosse Association for the past several years running teams in both the Junior and Senior division. Kennedy is a 1993 graduate of Newington High School where he assisted both on and off the field in the initial development of the program. Following high school Kennedy competed for Nichols College and Eastern Connecticut State University from 1997-1998. Kennedy is also a member of the Connecticut Valley Lacrosse Club
