March 1, 2010
It’s the first day of March, 2010 seems to be flying by and the lacrosse season is fast approaching. Connecticut Valley Elite ended February with an awesome tryout held at Star Hill Family Athletic Center in Tolland, CT. All the players who attended did great and we were very satisfied with the turnout, level of play, and overall attitude of everyone. Very positive!
In the weeks leading up to our second tryout, as coaches, we pulled out all the stops and pushed our program out to every avenue. As a new program is has been difficult to get the desired response the more established programs are always graced with, however, from all those who have come out and supported our program we haven’t been disappointed. Each athlete who has participated in our tryouts came out and played with intensity and determination. In the coming week Connecticut Valley Elite will be making our decision as to who will be offered to compete for our program. Stay tuned for the rosters to be posted within the next couple of weeks!
On another note this week is full of anticipation. Connecticut Valley Lacrosse Club will be participating in their first match of the 2010 American Lacrosse League season this Sunday, March 7 at Noon in Willimantic, CT. The game will be played (hopefully under sunny skies) on the brand new turf field at Eastern Connecticut State University. If you are looking for something to do this coming Sunday feel free to come out and support Connecticut’s only Spring Post-Collegiate lacrosse team! Until next time…keep on laxin’!
